Children's Indian Head Massage

Its not only adults who need to relax and de-stress at times. These days children very often feel the pressures of school and home life in much the same way we do. In school there are pressures of not only daily learning but also exams and revision with many children attending after school clubs and sports. Home life can also be busy. I found that with my eldest last year a couple of massage's during SATS week allowed her to sleep better. Massage also relaxed and focused her so she was better able to cope.

For children who have disabilities or learning difficulties they can very often become anxious and stressed about the world around them. Tension and sleeplessness can cause increases in difficult and challenging behaviour. Massage can also aide concentration and self confidence. With ADD I find that a massage can calm a potentially volatile situation.

​ Children who suffer from Glue ear may also find an Indian Head Massage beneficial as massage can help to relieve the sinuses and helps the lymphatic system.
​Indian Head massage can also aide sleeplessness, low mood, aches and pains, calms and refocuses.

Indian Head Massage is a gentle seated massage which is really adaptable regardless of age or ability. Personally working with my own children one of whom has ADD I have had to adapt the way that I use Indian Head Massage. It may take a few sessions before the child really starts to feel comfortable and relax to. Within a very short time most children are able to sit for a full massage lasting 20- 30 minutes depending on age.
